This week my class and I have started a new reading block. Basically Matua gives us a book to read and a few tasks to do that involve the book like what did kane say when he was by the bay or we have some activities to do on our chrome books too. My favorite part about reading so far is probably getting to draw a map of the locations in the book. Something I didn’t understand at first was the tasks because they were pretty hard to find in the book. My least favorite part about reading so far was the first time we started reading I had to share a book. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good. Finally something I learned was all the names of things in the boat from the book.

Beach Ed

On Tuesday the 20th of Feb year 6,7 and 8 got to attend beach ed. My favorite part about this experience was that we got to swim in the ocean with the life guards, Parent helpers, teachers and friends. My favorite part about swimming was the dolphin dives. Something my class and I learnt was how to keep safe in the water like in rips. My least favorite part about beach Ed was probably when the lifeguards gave us pieces papers in groups and we had to pretend we were lifeguards and write down what we would do in that scenario. I didn’t like this activity mainly because it was boring and my group and I didn’t get to finish. Something I didn’t understand at first was the beach games.

This week I have learnt how to write more persuasive words and persuasive sentences, letters and stories. I really enjoyed the part where we did super sentences with different subjects. I didn’t really understand the super sentences at first but then I understood. I think this will help me get better at Tuhituhi.

Today we learnt the sentence structure of Na Wai. We also learnt how to Include the speaker & listeners and how to exclude the speaker & listeners. Some others things we learnt was how to talk about 1 person, 2 people and 3 or more people. For E.g

Na wai ahau i whakahoki ki Rotorua? -Who will take me back to Rotorua.

Na Mere ahau I whakahoki ki Rotorua-Mere will take me back to Rotorua.

Kia Ora This block My class and I  went to the fake grass to start a drawing. We had to pick out a Space around the fake grass i chose the big poles and plants on top of the stairs. The Thing about this project was we have to think about what was in front, Behind, left and right. Here Is  a picture of my work .

Kia ora today we learnt how to show possession in Moari. First I made a slide called Nga Puriro-showing  possession. Next we coped down what the difference  of  Taku & Toku meant  then we added photos showing what they mean. When we finished the slide we had to do a work sheet about which words belonged in the “A” Category which stands for Taku and the “O” Category which stands for Toku. On the work sheet we had to translate Maori words into English. With the translation I got 25/30 but in the A and O Category I got 28/30. My favourite part was sorting the words into the “A” &  “O” Category.Here is a link to my work sheet and my slide show 

Kia Ora for the last few weeks my class have been making diorama’s each group got given a habitat place like my group got forest.We got to plan what it was going to look like then we picked out a box but my groups box was to deep so that day we cut the box in half then we also cut of duck legs then we are going to paint the duck brown so it looks like a kiwi.A few days later Matua Travis chose one person in our group that had to write down all our ideas.So that’s what i have learned in Kaupapa Matua so far. Kia Ora Today we finished off a story about should recycling be compulsory or not i think it should be compulsory because if we don’t then our environment will become bad for the creatures and animals.One thing i learned is that there is a island in the middle of the sea called Great Pacific Garbage Patch.  Here is a link to my Mahi

hi Today i’m going to be telling you about my slide about endangered animals

This week we have started a slide called endangered animals.last week we did a slide about Extinction now we are doing it about endangered animals.for my endangered animals i chose a Maui Dolphin.This slide is kinda about how to help endangered animals from going extinct one day.
